Three training opportunities will be held beginning Saturday (9:00 am) September 29th and ending Sunday (10:00 am) September 30th, 2007 at Camp Marist in Effingham, NH.

ICS Renewal -- All current Certified Instructors will need to renew your CI status.  You will also be given teaching assignments for the LTA campout that weekend.  In addition, some or all of you will be matched with new CIs to mentor during their first year of instructing.  Please review the attached " CI Notification Aug 2007" letter.

NEW Certified Instructors (CIs) -- We are encouraging every outpost to identify at least one person to become a CI.  Our training program is shifting to allow more outpost level training.  By having a CI in your outpost, you will be able to train your own leaders and not be dependent upon just District sponsored training.  Please review the attached "ICS Application 2007."  This must be returned to Cdr. Ken Bustard, Instructor Trainer, by Monday, September 10th if you wish to be considered for certification as an instructor.  You will be sent an open book exam to complete.  Upon successful completion, you may then be invited to attend the ICS seminar on Saturday, September 29th, 2007.  You will be given an instructing assignment which you will be evaluated on, and required to take a closed book exam, which you must score 85% or better on.  Cost is $15.00

LTA Campout -- This training opportunity is only offered every two years in N.N.E.D.  The LTA campout may be used toward your Leaders Medal of Achievment if you have not attended National Training Camp (NTC).  Please review the attached "LTA Schedule Sept 2007" for more information.  You must notifiy Cdr. Ken Bustard by Friday, September 14th, 2007 if you wish to attend the LTA Campout. 

You will then be provided additional information regarding the campout.  You may notify via email (preferred method) or telephone (207-825-3595) and give your full name, outpost number and telephone number.  Cost is $30.

Ranger Basics -- Ranger Basics will be offered on Saturday, September 29th at Camp Merist.  Cost is $30.  Please register the same method as the LTA Campout.  Walk-ins are welcome, but cannot be guaranteed a workbook.
